Disaster Response through Medical Mission
The MDH-MBFI Medical Mission for Typhoon Survivors was organized particularly for the survivors of the two most destructive tropical disturbances that hit the country, which were tropical storm Ondoy and typhoon Pepeng.
The MDH-MBFI Medical Mission for Typhoon Survivors in La Paz, Tarlac received an Anvil Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines’ 45th Anvil Awards. The program won under the category Specialized Public Relations Projects – One Time Basis, Crisis/Disaster and Risk Communications.
The Environment Committee was established to undertake environmental programs and projects to promote environmental care and sustainability and to increase the level of awareness and consciousness among employees and stakeholders about global warming and its effects to mankind.
The Environment Committee handled activities concerning the environment such as Carbon Emission Pilot Measurement and the MDH Earth Hour. The committee manages four specific areas, or task forces, namely Supply Chain, Energy Management, Hazardous Waste Management, and Non-Hazardous Waste Management.
The MDH Earth Hour was also intensified. From being a monthly campaign, the MDH Earth Hour is being observed twice a month since 2009. MDH has also been observing the Global Earth Hour by commemorating the occasion through a program since 2010.
Awards and Recognition
The CSR Awards was established in 2008 to encourage active CSR and instill the value of being good corporate citizens among the staff through hospital-wide socioeconomic programs. At the same time, it aims to document the best CSR practices and programs of MDH.
We facilitated and conducted the CSR Awards since 2009. It presents awards to medical and non-medical staff who have demonstrated exceptional participation to CSR programs and projects of the Hospital. It also recognizes departments that have implemented the best CSR programs and the best CSR fundraising programs.
